Black Forest Spa Route

The “Schwarzwald-Bäderstraße“ is an expansive circular route, 270 km in distance, which traverses the hills of the Northern Black Forest between Pforzheim, the “town of gold and jewellery”, and Freudenstadt. The deep-cut valleys are the home of the mineral and thermal springs which for many centuries have been renowned for their medicinal powers: Bad Liebenzell and Bad Teinach in the Nagold valley, Bad Wildbad in the Enz valley, Bad Rotenfels in the Murg valley, Bad Herrenalb and Waldbronn in the Alb valley, Bad Rippoldsau in the upper part of the Wolfach valley and the world-famous town of Baden-Baden on the Western edge of the Black Forest in the valley of the Oos. On this route you encounter spas and health resorts, Neubulach with its old silver mine, which is also used for asthma therapy, lovely Black Forest towns and villages very well worth seeing, monasteries, castles and fortresses, quiet lakes and high-moor bogs, mountains and sweet, picturesque valleys – a unique national park inviting you to take the waters and enjoy your holidays.
